Kaiju No. 8: The approaching Kaiju Kafka's bloodshed Episode 1 “The Man Who Became a Monster” cut released

A cut from the first episode of "Kaiju No. 8," an anime based on the popular manga by Naoya Matsumoto, titled "The Man Who Became a Monster," has been released. In the first episode, Kafka Hibino, who gave up his dream of joining the Japanese Defense Force to exterminate monsters(Kaiju) and is now working in a monster cleaning business, meets Reno Ichikawa, a junior colleague who aspires to become a member of the defense force. The released cut shows an approaching monster, Kafka bleeding, as well as Kafka's childhood friend Mina Ashiro, captain of the defense force's third unit, and Reno.

"Kaiju No. 8" has been serialized in "Shonen Jump+" since July 2020. Set in Japan, a monster superpower where monsters mercilessly invade everyday life, the story follows the adventures of the protagonist, Kafka Hibino, whose body has been transformed into a monster by a mysterious creature. It also attracted attention in 2021 when it was selected as the grand prize winner in the web manga category of the "Next Manga Awards 2021." The comic has sold over 13 million copies in total.

The anime will be produced by Production IG, which is responsible for the ``Ghost in the Shell'' series, and Studio Color, which is responsible for the ``Evangelion: Rebuild of Evangelion'' series, will be in charge of ``kaiju design and works.'' It will be broadcast every Saturday at 11pm starting April 13th on TV Tokyo and other channels.
