Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom: Cinema concert to be held on July 6th Live orchestra performance and appearances by Takanori Nishikawa and Rie Tanaka

It has been announced that a concert for the completely new movie version of the popular anime series "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED," "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom," titled "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom Cinema Concert," will be held at the National Hall of Pacifico Yokohama (Nishi-ku, Yokohama) on July 6th.

The dialogue and sound effects from the movie will be played, and you can enjoy music performed live by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. Toshihiko Sahashi, who was in charge of the music, orchestrated (arranged) it for the concert. Director Mitsuo Fukuda, Takanori Nishikawa who sings the theme song, and Rie Tanaka who plays Lacus Clyne will also be in attendance.

The Mobile Suit Gundam SEED series aired from October 2002 to September 2003, and its sequel, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY, aired from October 2004 to October 2005. SEED FREEDOM is a sequel to SEED DESTINY, and reunites the staff of the TV anime, including Director Mitsuo Fukuda. The production of a movie version was announced in 2006, but there had been no news on it for a long time.

After 18 years since its announcement, the film was released on January 26th of this year. It has been a hit, grossing over 4.59 billion yen. It will finish screening nationwide on May 23rd, its 17th week since release, except for some cinemas.
