Future Boy Conan: Episodes 1-4 of Hayao Miyazaki's classic TV anime to be screened in theaters for the first time to celebrate its stage adaptation

It has been announced that episodes 1 to 4 of the TV anime of director Hayao Miyazaki's masterpiece `` Future Boy Conan'' will be screened in theaters for a limited period of one week starting May 24th. Although a theatrical version of the film, which is a re-edited version of the TV anime, has been shown before, this is the first time that episodes 1 to 4 of the TV anime have been screened in theaters. To commemorate the stage adaptation of the same work, a TV anime will be shown.

"Future Boy Conan" is based on Alexander Kay's "The Left Behind" and was broadcast on NHK General TV from April to October 1978. Set in a world where humanity is on the verge of extinction due to the final war, the story depicts Conan, a boy living on an abandoned island, going on an adventure to rescue a girl, Lana.

The stage version will be performed at the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre Playhouse (Toshima-ku, Tokyo) from May 28 to June 16. Actor Seishiro Kato will play Conan, and former idol group Hinatazaka46 member Yuka Kageyama will play Lana.
