Moving life-size Gundam: “Final startup experiment” in Yokohama 1000 drones paint the night sky

GUNDAM FACTORY YOKOHAMA (GFY), which is home to a life-sized moving Gundam measuring approximately 18 meters in height, closing on March 31st, and in response to this, the event "GUNDAM FACTORY YOKOHAMA GRAND FINALE ~To the New Stage~" was held on the same day. The event featured appearances by Director Yoshiyuki Tomino, the "father of Gundam," and developers, as well as a "final activation experiment" and an original drone art show featuring approximately 1,000 drones. During the drone art show, drones painted characters and mobile suits from "Mobile Suit Gundam," "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED," and "Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury" in the night sky.

GFY opened on December 19, 2020 and was scheduled to end in March 2022, but there were many requests for its continuation, and the release period was extended twice. Approximately 1.75 million people visited the event in about three years and three months. The facility and the moving life-sized Gundam are scheduled to be dismantled, and future developments are undecided.
