Kaiju No. 8: Confront the giant monster! Second key visual released, short movie of action scenes too

The second key visual for the anime `` Kaiju No. 8', which is based on Naoya Matsumoto's popular manga currently being serialized in Shueisha's manga app ``Shonen Jump+'', has been released. It depicts Kaiju No. 8 standing up to a giant monster with his right hand raised. A short movie depicting the action scenes of Kaiju No. 8 was also released on YouTube.

A playlist of the film's songs will also be released on Spotify. The playlist will include the opening theme "Abyss" by British singer-songwriter YUNGBLUD, the ending theme "Nobody" by American rock band OneRepublic, and songs by Yudai Bando. Voice comments by Kafka Hibino, played by Katsuya Fukunishi, will also be included.

"Kaiju No. 8" has been serialized in "Shonen Jump+" since July 2020. Set in Japan, a monster superpower where monsters mercilessly invade everyday life, the story follows the adventures of the protagonist, Kafka Hibino whose body has been transformed into a monster by a mysterious creature. It also attracted attention in 2021 when it was selected as the grand prize winner in the web manga category of the "Next Manga Awards 2021." The comic has sold over 12 million copies in total.

The anime will be produced by Production IG, which is responsible for the ``Ghost in the Shell'' series, and Studio Color, which is responsible for the ``Evangelion: Rebuild of Evangelion'' series, will be in charge of ``kaiju design and works.'' It will be broadcast every Saturday at 11pm starting April 13th on TV Tokyo and other channels.
