The Apothecary Diaries: Cumulative sales exceed 33 million copies TV anime is also popular, with sales increasing by 9 million copies in 5 months

It has been revealed that the cumulative circulation of Natsu Hyuga's popular light novel series "The Apothecary Diaries" has exceeded 33 million copies. The TV anime series that started in October 2023 is also gaining popularity, and as of the end of September 2023, before the broadcast started, the cumulative circulation was about 24 million copies, and 27 million copies in about one month after the broadcast started.  Approximately 9 million copies have been sold in the five months since the start of broadcasting.

"The Apothecary Diaries" is set in a glamorous inner palace on a certain continent. Maomao, a girl who plays the role of "poison detector", and a beautiful eunuch, Jinshi, become involved in an incident that occurs in the inner palace, which is full of intrigues and rumors. It began publication in 2014 in Hero Bunko (Imagika Foss). The TV anime is currently being broadcast on Nippon Television.
