Frieren: Beyond Journey's End: The battle between mages intensifies Wirbel vs. Ubel Episode 20 "Necessary Killing" cut released

A cut of episode 20, "Necessary Killing ," of the TV anime "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" which is based on the manga currently being serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday" (Shogakukan), has been released. As the first stage of the first-class mage exam progresses, the magical battle between mages over the bird called Stille, which is a condition for passing the exam, intensifies. The released cut depicts mages such as Wirbel, Ubel, and Denken.

Episode 20 will be broadcast on Nippon Television's anime slot "FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT" from 11:30 pm on January 26th. In the first test of the first-class mage exam, Fern faces Ehre, Wirbel faces Ubel, and Land faces Scharf. As Wirbel fights with Ubel using their own magic, he senses a dangerous odor from Ubel. Meanwhile, Frieren group captures Stille, but Denken, Richter, and Laufen's group set their sights on them.

"Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" is a manga written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe Abe, which began serialization in "Weekly Shonen Sunday" in April 2020. Frieren, a magician in the hero's party who defeated the Demon King, is an elf and has a long lifespan, but after experiencing the death of a companion, she sets out on a journey to "get to know people." The anime will be directed by Keiichiro Saito, who has worked on "Bocchi the Rock!" and other works, and produced by Madhouse.

Atsumi Tanezaki will play the main character, Frieren, and voice actors including Kana Ichinose and Chiaki Kobayashi will also appear.
