With the second round of Lake Ashinoko GT approaching, Kanata attempts a test run to check the 86's updates. "MF Ghost" began serialization in "Young Magazine" (Kodansha) in 2017. The story is set in Japan in the year 202X, when self-driving cars have become widespread, and as MFG, a public road car race, is gaining popularity around the world, Kanata Katagiri (Kanata Rivington) , a graduate of a British racing school, sets out to achieve a certain goal. In order to fulfill his mission, he returns to Japan.
The anime will be directed by Tomohito Naka, who has worked on the ``New Initial D the Movie'' series, and will be produced by Felix Film. Naoyuki Onda, who also worked on ``Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway's Flash,'' will be in charge of character design.
