Okuyama, who belonged to "Team Spiral" which advocates the Zero Theory, is now an engineer at the auto shop "Spiral Zero" and updates the 86GT. Shuhei Sakaguchi will be the voice actor.

The anime will be directed by Tomohito Naka, who has worked on the ``New Initial D the Movie'' series, and will be produced by Felix Film. Naoyuki Onda, who also worked on ``Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway's Flash,'' will be in charge of character design.
