A press conference to announce the participating singers for the "74th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen'' which will be broadcast on December 31st, was held in Tokyo on November 13th. It has been revealed that Ado, "Atarashii Gakko!" , "Ano-chan" also known as ano and others will be participating in Kohaku for the first time.
It was also announced that MISAMO, a unit consisting of three Japanese members of the Korean nine-member female group TWICE, Mina, Sana, and Momo, will be participating. Although TWICE has participated four times in the past, this will be MISAMO's first appearance.
It was also announced that Ran Ito, Yo Oizumi, Tatsuya Kitani, and "MAN WITH A MISSION", "10-Feet", "Stray Kids", "Strawberry Prince (Stopuri)", "Mrs. Green Apple", and "SEVENTEEN" will appear for the first time.
The 74th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen will be broadcast on December 31st from 7:20 pm to 11:45 pm (there will be a news break) with the theme of ``Borderless - New Year's Eve that connects beyond.'' The event will be hosted by Hiroiki Ariyoshi, Kanna Hashimoto, Minami Hamabe, and announcer Kozo Takase.
