``Gundam Metaverse Project,'' a project based on the popular anime ``Gundam'' series, will open for a limited time in Japan and the United States from October 6 to 17, 2023. In addition to a museum displaying Gunpla (plastic models) made by fans and a shop selling limited edition Gunpla, you can also enjoy Metaverse Live. Pre-registration will start on the official website on September 16th. After opening for a limited time, it will be updated and a second opening is scheduled for spring 2024.
It was announced at the online presentation "Gundam Conference AUTUMN 2023" on September 15th. At the presentation, Bandai Namco Group Chief Gundam Officer (CGO) Takashi Fujiwara said, ``We will operate and develop it together with the fans,'' and ``We aim to be a place where we can co-create the next Gundam with the fans.''
This project is said to be a ``pillar project for creating the future of Gundam'' by the Bandai Namco Group, and will feature virtual spaces with themes such as anime, Gunpla, e-sports, and music.
