The Silent Service: Sequel to live-action series decided to be produced Takao Osawa ``Taking on the next battle with all my soul''

It was announced on February 20th that a sequel to the Amazon Original drama "The Silent Service Season 1 ~The Great Battle of Tokyo Bay~" (8 episodes), which is being distributed on Amazon's video distribution service "Prime Video", will be produced. Takao Osawa, the lead actor and producer, commented, "The entire staff and cast will come together as one and take on the next battle with all our heart and soul."

The original work is a manga of the same name by Kaiji Kawaguchi that was serialized in Morning (Kodansha) from 1988 to 1996, with cumulative circulation exceeding 32 million copies (paper and electronic). The live-action version of the movie was released in theaters in the fall of 2023. When the drama began distribution on February 9th, it became the highest-rated live-action work distributed by Prime Video in terms of viewership in Japan.

In Season 1, the main character, Shiro Kaieda (Mr. Osawa), who hijacked the nuclear submarine "Seabat" secretly built by the Japanese and U.S. governments and declared to the world the establishment of an independent nation called "Yamato," engages in tense submarine battles and negotiations with the Japanese and American governments.
