To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the serialization of Hideaki Sorachi's popular manga "Gintama", the exhibition "20th Anniversary Gintama Exhibition - Hatachi no Tsudoi" will be held at Sunshine City in Ikebukuro, Tokyo in the winter of 2024. In addition to displaying Mr. Sorachi's handwritten manuscripts, the exhibition will feature original photo spots and other features that will maximize the appeal of his works. Original exhibition goods will also be on sale.
It was also announced that a character popularity poll "Gintama 20th Anniversary All Character Popularity Poll" will be held as part of the "Gintama Exhibition" project. Voting has started accepting votes on a special website. The top 20 characters will be newly drawn by Mr. Sorachi as the key visual for the exhibition. The top 20 will be announced by fall 2024, and those below 21st will be announced at the Gintama Exhibition. The voting period is until January 31, 2024.
