A teaser for the 27th movie, "Detective Conan: One million dollar guidepost", the latest movie version of the popular anime ``Detective Conan'', has been released on YouTube.
It depicts Conan Edogawa muttering, "Why did he do this...", Kaitou Kid aiming for a Japanese sword, and Conan and Kid trying to find out the secret hidden in the sword, to the rhythm of a Japanese musical instrument. Heiji Hattori, a high school detective from the West who is Kid's partner in fate, breaks through the stained glass on his motorcycle with a voice saying, ``I'll never forgive you!''. He confronts Kid head-on and engages in intense battle action.
The new film will be directed by Chika Nagaoka, with a screenplay by Takahiro Okura and music by Yugo Kanno. It will be released on April 12, 2024.
"Detective Conan" is a manga that depicts Conan Edogawa solving difficult cases one after another, and began serialization in "Weekly Shonen Sunday" (Shogakukan) in 1994. A TV anime series has been airing since 1996.
The theatrical version of ``Detective Conan: Black Iron Submarine'' released in April exceeded 13.83 billion yen in box office revenue, setting a new record for the series. The cumulative box office revenue for the theatrical version of the series has exceeded 118 billion yen.
