Asadora: “Anpan” will be broadcast in the first half of 2025 Modeled after Takashi Yanase and his wife who created “Anpanman”

It was revealed on October 20th that the NHK TV drama series (Asadora) for the first half of 2025 has been decided to be "Anpan." This work is a story based on the couple Takashi Yanase (1919-2013), the manga artist and picture book author who created "Anpanman," and Nobu Komatsu (1918-1993). This is an original screenplay by Miho Nakazono, known for her work on the ``Hanako to Anne'', ``Segodon'', and ``Doctor-X: Surgeon Michiko Daimon'' series.

Mr. Yanase, a late-blooming manga artist who lived an unsteady life while changing jobs, has written the lyrics of ``Anpanman's March'' about the joy of living at the age of 70.The background behind the creation of the lyrics for ``Anpanman's March'' is the prewar, wartime, and postwar times. During these turbulent times, there was Nobu Komatsu, also known as ``Hachikin Onobu,'' who lived alongside Takashi, who was a bit timid and lacked self-confidence, and continued to lead him forward.

This is a ``story of love and courage'' in which two people, who were no strangers, overcome all kinds of troubles and reach Anpanman, and the joy of life wells up in their whole bodies. The role of the heroine Nobu, modeled after Nobu Komatsu, will be decided through an audition.

As Asadora, ``Boogie Woogie'' starring Shuri is currently being aired, ``Tora ni Tsubasa'' starring Sairi Ito will be aired in the first half of 2024, and ``Omusubi'' starring Kanna Hashimoto will be broadcast in the second half of 2024.
