Drama "Too Inappropriate!" to be remade in Korea

It was revealed on August 26th that the TV drama series "Fukokuri mo Hodo ga Aru!" (TBS), which aired in January this year and starred Abe Sadao and was written by Kudo Kankuro, will be remade in Korea.

The drama is a human comedy about a Showa era physical education teacher, Ogawa Ichiro (Abe), who by chance travels back in time to the present day. It stars Yoshida Yo, Riisa Naka, Isomura Hayato, and Yuumi Kawai. Ichiro's "inappropriate" remarks have a big impact on the people around him, and the humorous yet thought-provoking content has become a hot topic.

Kim Jeong-mi, CEO of Basestory, the production company working on the Korean version, commented, "Through the main character who travels between the past and the present, the original drama conveyed the values of 'understanding' and 'tolerance' that remain timeless through the ages. We hope to bring together our planning and production capabilities to incorporate elements that are uniquely Korean and the warmth of the original drama, in order to evoke deep emotion and sympathy among Korean viewers."

In June of this year, TBS established "TOKYO BROADCASTING SYSTEM KOREA, INC." in Seoul, Korea as a strategic base for overseas business. The company has been focusing on program sales, drama remakes, and IP joint development. It plans to continue strengthening and developing sales and IP joint development, and to invest 5 billion yen in content.
