"Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" Noh Kyogen performance "Tsugu" to be held, with Koyoharu Gotouge revealed

Koyoharu Gotouge(It has been announced that "Noh Kyogen 'Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba' - Tsugi-", a sequel to "Noh Kyogen 'Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba'", based on the popular manga "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" by Gotouge Koyoharu, will be performed at Kanze Nohgakudo GINZASIX (Chuo-ku, Tokyo) from December 25 to 29. The main visual, which was drawn by the original author Goge for the performance, is Kyojuro Rengoku (Rengoku Kyoujuro), a popular character.

The sequel will be directed and re-produced by Mansai Nomura, who will appear as Kyojuro Rengoku, Daki, and Muzan Kibutsuji. It will be supervised by Living National Treasure Bunzo Otsuki. Performances are also planned for Fukuoka, Osaka, and Aichi in 2025.

Mansai said, "After receiving great acclaim, we will finally be performing the long-awaited sequel, "Noh and Kyogen 'Demon Slayer: Kimetsu Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Yaiba' -Sequel-". The story will be told in the world of Noh and Tengen Uzui, focusing on the stories of Kyojuro Rengoku, Enmu, Akaza, Uzui Tengen, Daki, and Gyutaro. The previous production focused on the birth of Demon Slaying Corps' Tanjiro Kamado and the sadness of demons, but this time we will also put the spotlight on the lives of the pillars who confront demons. We are currently working on the script and directing plans for the new production, and are excited to show everyone the wide variety of Noh and Kyogen. Please look forward to it!"

The main performances of "Demon Slayer: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" will be performed in Tokyo and Osaka in 2022, with additional performances scheduled in Kyoto, Fukuoka, Aichi, and Kanagawa in 2023.

The story of "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" is about Tanjiro Kamado, whose family was killed by demons, joining Demon Slaying Corps to turn his sister Nezuko, who has also turned into a demon, back into a human. The original was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) from 2016 to 2020. The total number of copies of the comics published is over 150 million.
