It has been announced that the band "FIRE BOMBER" from the popular anime series "Macross" will be releasing their first new song in about 12 years, "BURN! BURN! BURN!". The single and best album "Macross 7 ULTRA FIRE!! FIRE BOMBER BEST ALBUM" will be released on vinyl on October 30th.
The announcement was made on August 15th, the birthday of the band's vocalist Basara Nekki, during a live broadcast on SHOWROOM called "It's Basara Nekki's Birthday, Fire! presented by Macross Modelers." "BURN! BURN! BURN!" is an up-tempo rock tune that features a passionate exchange between Basara Nekki and Mylene, Flare and Jenius. The single will also include new solo songs by Basara Nekki, Mylene, Flare and Jenius. The jacket will be a newly designed drawing by Haruhiko Mikimoto, the original character designer for "Macross 7."
"Macross 7" is set on the space immigration fleet Macross 7 and depicts Basara Nekki, the vocalist of the band "FIRE BOMBER," struggling to convey his song on the battlefield. The TV anime was broadcast from 1994 to 1995.
