The two seasons of the drama "GTO" AKIRA version from 2012 and 2014 are now available on TVer

"GTO" (11 episodes), starring AKIRA from the dance and vocal group "EXILE", which aired on Kansai TV and Fuji TV in July 2012, is now available for free streaming on TVer. All episodes of "GTO2" (11 episodes), which aired two years later in July 2014, are also now available.

"GTO" is a popular series depicting the exploits of Onizuka Eikichi, a former legendary leader of a motorcycle gang and now a teacher. The original work was a manga of the same name by Fujisawa Tooru (published by Kodansha). It was made into a TV drama in 1998 starring Sorimachi Takashi. It was later remade starring AKIRA, with the first season airing in 2012 and the second in 2014. In April of this year, a "GTO revival" in which Sorimachi played Onizuka for the first time in 26 years also became a hot topic.

In the 2012 series "GTO," Eikichi Onizuka (AKIRA), a legendary biker gang member who works part-time as a gardener pruning trees in the school grounds of Kichijoji Meishu Gakuen, becomes a teacher through an unexpected turn of events and solves the problems his students face in unconventional ways. The students are played by Haruna Kawaguchi, Shintaro Morimoto of SixTONES, Mariya Nishiuchi, Tsubasa Honda, Taishi Nakagawa, Yuki Yamada, Sara Takatsuki, and Yua Shinkawa.

The setting for the 2014 film "GTO2" is Meishu Shonan High School in Onizuka's hometown of Shonan. The story begins when Onizuka's alma mater, Tsujido High School, comes under the new umbrella of Meishu Gakuen, and Onizuka is sent there temporarily. He gives outrageous and passionate lessons on a number of issues, including a high school girl getting pregnant and a school dropout who doesn't care about their own lives, putting his "life on the line" on the line. The students in this film are played by Matsuoka Mayu, Kikuchi Fuma, Miyoshi Ayaka, Ryusei Ryo, Fuka Koshiba, Ito Sari, Matsui Airi, Katayose Ryota and Sano Reo of the dance and vocal group "GENERATIONS from EXILE TRIBE".
