It was revealed on July 26th that Hidekazu Chinen will be playing the main character, Kamen Rider Gavv /Shoma, in the latest installment of the special effects drama "Kamen Rider" series, "Kamen Rider Gavv" (TV Asahi, Sundays at 9:00 AM), which will begin in September.

Chinen was born on March 19, 2005, and is 19 years old and from Okinawa Prefecture. He was selected as a finalist from a total of 15,918 applicants at the 2nd Star Audition held in 2021 by Stardust Promotion, an entertainment agency that represents many actors who have appeared in the Kamen Rider series. He has been active as a trainee "EBiDAN NEXT" of Stardust's boy group "EBiDAN (Ebisu Gakuen Boys Division)".
Chinen commented, "Nice to meet you! My name is Hidekazu Chinen and I will be playing the main character, Shoma. I am very honored to be able to play the lead role in such a major work as Kamen Rider, which I have admired since I was a child. While I feel the expectations of everyone for this historic series, and the pressure, I would like to use them as a great driving force for the creation of the work and perform my role!"

The sixth Reiwa Rider Kamen Rider Gavv, is based on sweets and will be the first Kamen Rider in the over half-century history of the Kamen Rider series to transform with the power of sweets. Kamen Rider Gavv 's basic form is the gummy candy-inspired Poppingmi Form, but other forms include the potato chip crunchy chips form and the marshmallow fluffy marshmallow form.
In the movie "Kamen Rider Gotchard The Future Daybreak" released on July 26, Shoma appeared in advance of the main TV broadcast and transformed into Kamen Rider Gavv.
