It was announced on July 21st that the popular manga "Jigoku Sensei Nube," serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha), will be adapted into a new anime in 2025. The series was broadcast as a TV anime from 1996 to 1997, and this will be the first new anime in about 26 years since the 1999 OVA (original video animation) "Jigoku Sensei Nube The Greatest Battle in History! Zetsuki Raishuu!!" The new work will reportedly be set in the Reiwa era. It was also announced that a new one-shot will be published in the September issue of "Saikyō Jump" (Shueisha), which goes on sale on August 2nd.

A teaser visual for the new anime has been released, depicting the hand of Meisuke Nueno (Nube) holding up a crystal ball in a school hallway. Inside the crystal ball is Nube 's symbol, the "demon hand" that is usually hidden by his glove, and in the background are the figures of children and eerie shadows creeping up on them. The first PV has also been released on YouTube, depicting the school and hallways with a strange atmosphere, Nube 's spirit crystal, an exorcism tool, and a child's voice calling for help.
"Jigoku Sensei Nube" is a manga written by Makura and illustrated by Okano, which was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" from 1993 to 1999. The story follows Meisuke Nueno (Nube), a young teacher assigned to Domori Elementary School, who solves a series of incidents with the power of the "demon hand" that resides in his left arm. The official sequel, "Jigoku Sensei Nube NEO", was serialized in "Grand Jump" (same publisher) from 2014 to 2018, and "Jigoku Sensei Nube S" was serialized in "Saikyō Jump" (same publisher) from 2018 to 2021. The series has sold a total of approximately 29 million copies.
In addition to being broadcast as a TV anime from 1996 to 1997, it was also made into an OVA and a movie, with Ryotaro Okiayu as the voice actor for Nube. In 2014, a TV drama starring Ryuhei Maruyama was broadcast.
