A new project, "Maomao, Jinshi and the Four Seasons," has been launched in preparation for the second season of the TV anime "The Apothecary Diaries," based on the light novel by Natsu Hyuga. The project will release new visuals themed on seasonal plants on the 22nd of each month. The first release features Maomao and Jinshi, as well as lotus flowers, which are in full bloom in July. A campaign will be held on the anime's official Twitter account to give away postcards featuring the same visual.

The light novel version of "The Apothecary Diaries" is published by Hero Bunko (Imagine Infos), and its comic adaptation has also become popular. The total number of copies of the original series published has exceeded 33 million.

The story takes place in a glamorous inner palace on a certain continent, where Maomao, a girl who plays the role of a poison detector, and a beautiful eunuch, Jinshi, become involved in incidents that occur in the inner palace, which is full of intrigues and rumors. The first season of the TV anime aired on Nippon Television from October 2023 to March 2024. It has also been announced that the second season will be produced and aired in 2025.
