A special Tanabata visual for the TV anime "The Apothecary Diaries," based on the light novel by Natsu Hyuga, was released on July 7th. The visual features Maomao and Jinshi in yukata robes. It depicts Maomao writing her wishes on a strip of paper, with Jinshi peering at her with a mischievous expression. A special video with a mini voice drama featuring Maomao and Jinshi was also released.
The light novel version of "The Apothecary Diaries" is published by Hero Bunko (Imagine Infos), and its comic adaptation has also become popular. The total number of copies of the original series published has exceeded 33 million.
The story takes place in a glamorous inner palace on a certain continent, where Maomao, a girl who plays the role of a poison detector, and a beautiful eunuch, Jinshi, become involved in incidents that occur in the inner palace, which is full of intrigues and rumors. The first season of the TV anime aired on Nippon Television from October 2023 to March 2024. It has also been announced that the second season will be produced and aired in 2025.
