My Hero Academia: Ending in 5 more episodes, 10-year serialization comes to an end

It was revealed on June 24th that Kohei Horikoshi 's popular manga "My Hero Academia," currently being serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha), will conclude in "five more chapters." The final chapter will be in the combined 36th and 37th issue of the magazine, which will go on sale on August 5th, bringing the series to a close after about 10 years of serialization. The announcement was made on "Jump PRESS," an information program for "Weekly Shonen Jump" that was streamed on YouTube on the same day.

"My Hero Academia" began serialization in "Weekly Shonen Jump" in July 2014. Set in a world where about 80% of the population has supernatural powers and quirks, the story follows Izuku Midoriya, also known as Deku, as he strives to become the greatest hero. The 40th volume of the manga was released in April, and the total number of copies of the series in circulation worldwide, including digital versions, has exceeded 100 million. More than 60 million copies have been published in Japan, and more than 40 million copies have been published overseas.

The anime series has also become popular, with the first season airing from April to June 2016, the second from March to September 2017, the third from April to September 2018, the fourth from October 2019 to April 2020, the fifth from March to September 2021, and the sixth from October 2022 to March 2023. The seventh season has been airing every Saturday at 5:30 pm on Yomiuri TV and Nippon TV since May.

The film version of the series has also been produced, with the first film, My Hero Academia: The Movie - Two Heroes, released in 2018, grossing approximately 1.72 billion yen. The second film My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising, released in 2019, grossed approximately 1.76 billion yen, and the third film, My Hero Academia: World Heroes' Mission, released in 2021, grossed approximately 3.43 billion yen. The fourth and latest film, My Hero Academia: You're Next, is set to be released on August 2nd, which is also a hot topic.
