Dandadan: Creepy Nuts to perform TV anime opening theme "Otonoke"

It has been revealed that the hip-hop unit Creepy Nuts will be performing the opening theme "Otonoke" for the TV anime "Dandadan," which is based on the popular manga by Yukinobu Tatsu that is currently being serialized on Shueisha's manga app "Shonen Jump +."

DJ Matsunaga commented, "The moment I feel most satisfied with songwriting is when I feel like, 'I've made a song that doesn't exist in this world,' and Otonoke is definitely that moment! I'm glad I was able to make it!" R-Shitei said, "I thought that the interpretation of this work, in which monsters and spirits possess people and 'resonate with pain and sadness and connect with them,' is very similar to the relationship between music creators and listeners that I think about, so I started writing."

"Dandadan" is a manga by Tatsu, who was an assistant on the popular manga "Chainsaw Man" and "Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku", and began serialization in "Shonen Jump +" in April 2021. It depicts Momo, a high school girl from a family of spiritualists, and her classmate Okarun, an occult fanatic, as they face one strange phenomenon after another. The total number of copies of the comics published is over 3.2 million. The total number of views on "Shonen Jump +" is over 440 million.

The TV anime will be broadcast on the MBS/TBS late-night anime slot "Super Animeism TURBO" from October.
