故・水木しげるさんのマンガが原作のテレビアニメ「ゲゲゲの鬼太郎」第6期の劇場版「鬼太郎誕生 ゲゲゲの謎」のストーリーと世界観を追体験できる初の展示イベント「鬼太郎誕生ゲゲゲの謎～追憶展～」が開催されることが分かった。池袋パルコ（東京都豊島区）で6月21日～7月8日、広島パルコ（広島市中区）で7月12日～8月5日に開催される。

Characters and art settings will also be on display, and there will be multiple photo spots where you can take photos pretending to be the characters while following the story, as well as art reproductions. Tickets with audio guides will be sold, and the exhibition will be guided by an audio recording of Kitaro's father, Mizuki, available only at the venue.
A visual drawn by character designer Toko Yatabe was also released. Goods using the same illustration will also be on sale.
The film was released on November 17, 2023 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Mizuki's birth. This is the first time in 15 years that a GeGeGe no Kitaro movie has been released since GeGeGe no Kitaro: Japan Explodes!!, the fifth season of the TV anime, which was released in December 2008. Kitaro's father (formerly Medama Oyaji) and Mizuki are the main characters, and this is the first time that the story of Kitaro's fathers has been told. The film was a hit, grossing over 2.7 billion yen, and was also a hot topic after being selected for the Best Animation Award at the 47th Japan Academy Awards.
