Chibi Maruko-chan: Kokoro Kikuchi to take over as Maruko, replacing Tarako

It has been revealed that Kikuchi Kokoro will take over the role of the main character Maruko from the late TARAKO in the popular TV anime "Chibi Maruko-chan" (Fuji TV, Sunday 6pm). Kikuchi is a voice actress who has played the roles of Uchiha Sarada in "BORUTO: NARUTO NEXT GENERATIONS" and Toko in "One Piece", and she previously played the character Hana-chan in the episode "Maruko Saves a Ghost" that aired on August 12, 2018. Kikuchi will take on the role of Maruko from the April 21st broadcast.

"Chibi Maruko-chan" is a popular manga by Momoko Sakura. It began serialization in Ribon (Shueisha) in 1986. Set in Shimizu City, Shizuoka Prefecture (now Shimizu Ward, Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture), it depicts the daily life of Maruko (Momoko Sakura), the second daughter of the Sakura family and a third-grader in elementary school, as well as her family and friends. A TV anime series began in January 1990.
