It has been announced that Tsubasa Yamaguchi's manga ``Blue Period'', which is being serialized in ``Monthly Afternoon'' (Kodansha), will be made into a live-action movie starring Gordon Maeda. It was also announced that Fumiya Takahashi,Rihito Itagaki, and Hiyori Sakurada will appear. The movie ``Blue Period'' will be released on August 9th. A teaser trailer and teaser visual were also released.

"Blue Period" has been serialized in "Monthly Afternoon" since 2017. The film depicts high school student Yatora Yaguchi aiming to enter an art university. In addition to being selected for the ``Manga Award 2020'', it has also been made into a TV anime and a stage play, and has attracted attention.

Maeda plays the main character Yatora Yaguchi, who is well-liked and has excellent grades, but feels unsatisfied with his life as a reader of the air, Takahashi plays "Yuka-chan" Ryuji Ayukawa, the person who inspired Yatora to join the art club and is conflicted about his "likes". Itagaki plays Yotasuke Takahashi, a genius high school student with amazing drawing skills who is Yatora's biggest rival, and Sakurada plays Morimaru, a senior student in the art club, who gives Yatora the opportunity to overcome his difficulties whenever he encounters them.
