Dandadan: The popular “Jump+” work will be made into a TV anime in 2024

It has been revealed that Yukinobu Tatsu's popular manga `` Dandadan'', which is being serialized on Shueisha's manga app ``Shonen Jump+'', will be made into a TV anime in 2024. Fuuga Yamashiro, who has worked on films such as ``Inu-Oh'' and ``The Heike Story,'' will be the director. In addition, Hiroshi Seko will be in charge of series composition and script, Kensuke Ushio will be in charge of music, Naoyuki Onda will be in charge of character design, and Yoshimichi Kameda will be in charge of alien/yokai design. It will be produced by Science SARU, which also produces ``Inu-Oh,'' ``Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!'' and ``The Heike Story.''

"Dandadan" is a manga written by Tatsu, who worked as an assistant on the popular manga "Chainsaw Man" and "Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku," and began serialization in "Shonen Jump +" in April 2021. The story depicts Momo Ayase, a high school girl who believes in ghosts and doesn't believe in aliens, and Ken Takakura, also known as Okarun, a classmate of Momo's who is an occult enthusiast, as they confront a series of supernatural phenomena. The 11th volume of the comic has been released, with a cumulative circulation of over 3.2 million copies. The cumulative number of views on Shonen Jump+ is over 360 million, and it is attracting attention as a hot topic following the popular "SPY x FAMILY" and "Kaiju No. 8" on the app.

Visuals depicting the main characters Momo and Okarun, aliens and ghosts, and a 45-second teaser PV were also released.
