The teaser PV for the fifth series of the TV anime "Kingdom", based on Yasuhisa Hara's popular manga, has been released on YouTube. This will be the first time the main video will be released. The 5th series depicts the battle at Kokuyokyu, a natural fortress in the Zhao State, and the PV features tough outlaws led by Kanki, who was ordered by the general, as well as Shin and Hishintai, who fight together as an active force.
"Kingdom" is a popular manga that has been serialized in "Weekly Young Jump" (Shueisha) since 2006. Set during China's Spring and Autumn Warring States period, the film depicts the exploits of Shin, who aspires to become a great general of the world, and the drama of heroes such as the King of Qin, Ei Zheng, who later became known as Qin Shihuang. The cumulative circulation of comics will exceed 100 million copies with the latest 70th volume released on November 17th.
The first series of the TV anime was broadcast from June 2012 to February 2013. The second series was broadcast from June 2013 to March 2014. The third series was broadcast from April to October 2021. The fourth series was broadcast from April to October 2022.
The fifth series will be broadcast on NHK General from midnight on January 6, 2024.
