The main visual for the theatrical version of ``Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom'', a completely new version of ``Mobile Suit Gundam SEED'' from the popular anime ``Gundam'' series, has been released. Kira Yamato and Lacus Clyne are turned away, and Athrun Zala, Shinn Asuka, Rising Freedom Gundam, and Immortal Justice Gundam are also depicted.
The new power chart has also been released, and it has been revealed that Kira and Shinn are active in Compass, a world peace monitoring organization whose first president is Lacus. The battle is still going on in CE (Cosmic Era) 75, which is the setting, and in order to calm down the independence movement and the invasion by Blue Cosmos, Compass is created and Kira and his friends intervene in battles in various places. Compass receives a proposal from the emerging country Foundation, including new characters Aura Maha Khyber, to conduct a joint operation against the Blue Cosmos headquarters.
``Mobile Suit Gundam SEED'' is a story in which Kira Yamato, a boy coordinator living in the neutral colony of Heliopolis, gets caught up in the battle as the war between the Earth Allied Forces and the armed organization ZAFT reaches its peak.
It was broadcast from October 2002 to September 2003, and is also called the "First Gundam of the 21st Century." In addition to fans of the previous "Gundam" series, it gained a large number of female viewers, and recorded the highest viewership rating of 8.0%. The sequel, ``Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY'', was broadcast from October 2004 to October 2005, and recorded a maximum audience rating of 8.2%. Gunpla (plastic models) also did well, sparking a "second Gunpla boom" among elementary school students. Cumulative package sales of the series have exceeded 4 million units.
`` Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom'' is the sequel to ``Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY'', and will reunite the TV animation staff including director Mitsuo Fukuda. It will be released on January 26, 2024.
