Masanori Morita's one-shot ``ROOKIES Dream Continuation'', which is a sequel to the manga ``ROOKIES'', has started distribution on Shueisha's manga app ``Yanjan!'', e-book store ``Zebrak'', and others. This one-shot depicting the Futakotamagawa Gakuen High School (Nico Gaku) baseball team after its conclusion was published in Weekly Young Jump (Shueisha) in 2009. It will be available for free during the campaign period until November 7th.
The one-shot depicts the draft meeting "after" Nico Gaku Nine, and has not been included in the comics until now. The decision was made to distribute the book after hearing from fans that they wanted to read it again. Mr. Morita commented with joy, "I've never been able to record it anywhere, and I've always wondered whether it would be possible to make it public. I'm so happy!''
"ROOKIES" is a manga serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" from 1998 to 2003. The story depicts the Futakotamagawa Academy baseball club, whose activities were suspended due to a violent incident, resuming club activities with a new teacher, Kawato, and aiming for Koshien. It also became a hot topic when it was made into a live-action drama in 2008 and a live-action movie in 2009. The cumulative circulation of the comic series is over 21 million copies.
