An animation of the opening theme (OP) "Lilac" by the band "Mrs. Green Apple" for the TV anime "Oblivion Battery", which is based on the baseball manga by Eko Mikawa that is being serialized in Shueisha's manga app "Shonen Jump +" A music video (MV) using the footage was released on YouTube. The MV uses footage from episodes 1 to 12 of the TV anime, supervised by director Makoto Nakazono, and was created to match the lyrics of "Lilac"

"Oblivion Battery" began serialization in April 2018. The story is about a monster battery made famous in the junior high school baseball world, consisting of the flawless pitcher Haruka Kiyomine and the sharp catcher "wise general" Kei Kaname Kaname, who go on to study at Tokyo Metropolitan Kotesashi High School, an unknown baseball school. Kei has lost his memory and all knowledge of baseball, and by chance, the geniuses who had lost to them and stayed away from baseball also enroll in the same school.
The anime was directed by Nakazono, who participated in "Chainsaw Man" as chief director, and produced by MAPPA. It began airing on TV Tokyo in April, with the final episode airing on July 2.
