Tokyo Ghoul: 10th Anniversary of the Anime, "Immersive" Exhibition "Tokyo Ghoul EX." to be Held in Tokyo and Osaka

It has been revealed that "Tokyo Ghoul EX.", an exhibition of the TV anime series "Tokyo Ghoul," based on the popular manga by Sui Ishida, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, will be held in Tokyo and Osaka. It will be an "immersive" exhibition where visitors can experience the world of the work through three-dimensional exhibits, interactive experiences, and immersive video. The exhibition's key visuals, featuring Ken Kaneki, Touka Kirishima, and Rize Kamishiro by character designer Kazuhiro Miwa have also been released. The Tokyo venue will be held at Terada Warehouse G1 Building (Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo) from October 21st to December 1st, while the Osaka venue will be held at VS. in Gran Green Osaka (Kita-ku, Osaka) from December 14th to 29th.

It was also announced that merchandise featuring original illustrations by Ishida, the original author, will be given away as a gift to visitors. The illustrations will be released at a later date.Visitors will also be given a "Tokyo Ghoul Special Package Design Lenticular Card" (4 types in total) with a character design as a gift on a first-come, first-served basis. The design will vary depending on the period, with the Tokyo venue having Rize Kamishiro from October 21st to 30th, Ayato Kirishima from October 31st to November 10th, Uta from November 11th to 20th, and Ken Kaneki (after awakening) from November 21st to December 1st. The distribution schedule for the Osaka venue will be announced at a later date.

Tickets for the Tokyo venue will go on sale at 10am on July 6th. Admission tickets that come with an acrylic diorama using the exhibition's key visual will also be on sale. Advance tickets will be priced at 5,800 yen, and same-day tickets at 6,000 yen. Admission tickets that come with a complete set of 15 pins (with serial numbers) using newly drawn illustrations will also be on sale. These will be made to order and will cost 12,000 yen. Regular admission tickets are priced at 3,300 yen for advance tickets and 3,500 yen for same-day tickets.

"Tokyo Ghoul" is a popular manga that focuses on ghouls, monsters that eat human flesh. The Tokyo Ghoul was serialized in "Weekly Young Jump" (Shueisha) from 2011 to 2014, and the new chapter "Tokyo Ghoul:re" was serialized from 2014 to 2018. The total number of copies of the comic series published worldwide is over 47 million.

The TV anime "Tokyo Ghoul" aired from July to September 2014, "Tokyo Ghoul √A" from January to March 2015, and the first season of "Tokyo Ghoul:re" aired from April to June 2018, and the second season from October to December of the same year. Live-action films starring actor Masataka Kubota were released in 2017 and 2019, which also attracted attention.
