The second season of the TV anime "Oshi no Ko", based on the manga currently being serialized in "Weekly Young Jump" (Shueisha), will be broadcast on TOKYO MX, BS11 and 35 other stations from 11pm on July 3rd. In the second season, Aqua, Kana Arima, Akane Kurokawa and others will co-star in the 2.5-dimensional stage play "Tokyo Blade".

The second season will introduce new characters such as Taiki Himekawa, the star actor of Lalalie Theatrical Company, popular stage actor Sakuya Kamoshida, manga artist Abiko Samejima, the original author of "Tokyo Blade", and stage scriptwriter GOA. The opening theme "Fatale" will be performed by GEMN, a unit formed by Kento Nakajima, who graduated from the popular group "Sexy Zone" (now "timelesz") at the end of March, and singer-songwriter Tatsuya Kitani. The band Hitsujibungaku will be performing the ending theme "Burning".

In the first episode of the second season (episode 12), "Tokyo Blade," rehearsals for the play "Tokyo Blade" begin. Aqua even uses acting as a way to pursue the truth behind Ai's death. However, the presence of Himekawa, the star of Lalalie Theatrical Company strongly stimulates the cast...

"Oshi no Ko is a popular manga written by Aka Akasaka, who also wrote "Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, and illustrated by Yokoyari Mengo, who also wrote "Scum's Wish". It began serialization in Weekly Young Jump in April 2020. It tells the story of a Mengo Yokoyari left behind by a genius idol named Ai, who suddenly dies. The younger twin, Ruby, admires her mother and enters the entertainment industry, while the older brother, Aqua, vows to take revenge on their biological father, who is believed to have accomplices in Ai's murder. As it is serialized, the story is entering its "final chapter". The comic has sold over 16.5 million copies in total.

A live-action adaptation has also been announced, with the drama series being released on Prime Video from 9pm on November 28th, and the sequel movie being released on December 20th. The all-star cast is also a hot topic, with former member of idol group Nogizaka46 Asuka Saito playing Ai, actor Kaito Sakurai playing Aqua, and former member of idol group =LOVE Nagisa Saito playing Ruby.

The first season of the TV anime will air from April to June 2023, and the opening theme "Idol" by the music unit YOASOBI was a huge hit, and their performance at the 74th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen Gassen also became a hot topic.
