Oshi no Ko: TV anime season 2 Cuts from episode 1 "Tokyo Blade" released Stage rehearsals begin

A cut from the first episode (episode 12) of the second season of the TV anime "Oshi no Ko" based on the manga currently being serialized in "Weekly Young Jump" (Shueisha), titled "Tokyo Blade," has been released. In the first episode of the second season, rehearsals begin for the 2.5-dimensional stage play "Tokyo Blade." The released cuts show a smiling Taiki Himekawa, the star actor of the Lalalie Theatrical Company, Kana Arima, a former child prodigy, and Aqua, who appears to be thinking about something.

"Oshi no Ko is a popular manga written by Aka Akasaka, who also wrote "Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, and illustrated by Yokoyari Mengo, who also wrote "Scum's Wish". It began serialization in Weekly Young Jump in April 2020. It tells the story of a Mengo Yokoyari left behind by a genius idol named Ai, who suddenly dies. The younger twin, Ruby, admires her mother and enters the entertainment industry, while the older brother, Aqua, vows to take revenge on their biological father, who is believed to have accomplices in Ai's murder. As it is serialized, the story is entering its "final chapter". The comic has sold over 16.5 million copies in total.

A live-action adaptation has also been announced, with the drama series set to stream on Prime Video from 9:00 p.m. on November 28th, and the sequel to the film set to be released on December 20th.

The first season of the TV anime will air from April to June 2023, and the opening theme "Idol" by the music unit "YOASOBI" was a big hit, and their performance at the "74th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen" was also a hot topic. The second season will air on TOKYO MX, BS11 and 35 other stations from July 3rd.
