Grendizer U: Episode 1 of the TV anime "Two Stars Meet in the Desert" scenes released Featuring Daisuke and Koji Kabuto, Grendizer, and Mazinger Z

The scenes from the first episode of the TV anime "Grendizer U," a reboot of the TV anime "UFO Robot Grendizer" originally created by Go Nagai, "Two Stars Meet in the Desert," has been released. It shows a man named Daisuke, Koji Kabuto, the giant robot Grendizer, and a flying Mazinger Z.

The first episode features a man who falls into the desert and loses his memory. The man, named Daisuke, hits it off with Koji Kabuto, who picks him up. As unidentified forces attack the Earth, a giant robot called Grendizer appears... This is the story.

"UFO Robot Grendizer" is the third installment in Nagai's "Mazinger" series, following "Mazinger Z" and "Great Mazinger." It depicts alien Duke Freed piloting the giant robot Grendizer to fight against oncoming evil. It was serialized in "TV Magazine" (Kodansha) from 1975 to 1976, and the TV anime aired from 1975 to 1977. Despite its long run of 74 episodes, the anime recorded an average audience rating of over 20%, and was popular around the world, including in Europe, the Middle East, and South America.

"Grendizer U" will be directed by Mitsuo Fukuda, who has worked on "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED" and "Future GPX Cyber Formula," with character design by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, who has worked on "Neon Genesis Evangelion" and "Summer Wars." The series will bring together a star-studded staff, including series composition and scriptwriting by Ichiro Okouchi, who has worked on "Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch of Mercury" and "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion," and music by Kohei Tanaka, who has worked on "One Piece" and "Sakura Wars series". The series will air on TV Tokyo and other networks from July 5th.
