It was also announced that Wapol and Dalton will appear in Season 2. When the production of the live-action sequel was announced, Oda commented, "From now on, I feel like the Straw Hats will need a good 'ship's doctor'...stay tuned!", suggesting that Wapol and Dalton will appear in an episode on "that island" that also involves a ship's doctor. It was also revealed that Rob Colletti, who has appeared in "The Sopranos: The Newark Mafia," will play Wapol, and Ty Keogh will play Dalton.

The live-action drama will be produced by Hollywood's Tomorrow Studios, which is responsible for TV dramas such as "Cowboy Bebop" and "Snowpiercer," with original author Oda serving as executive producer.

Inaki Godoy will play Luffy and Mackenyu will play Zoro, and other cast members include Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji.

Season 1 began streaming on Netflix on August 31, 2023. Set in Luffy's hometown, the East Blue, it depicts the battle between Luffy and his friends and rough pirates such as Buggy and Arlong, and the origins of the Straw Hat Pirates' adventure. Season 2 will be exclusively available on Netflix soon.
