Berabou: Scene cuts from the first episode of the taiga drama starring Yokohama Ryusei, which will start on January 5, 2025, have been released

The scene cuts from the first episode of the NHK Taiga drama "Berabou", starring actor Ryusei Yokohama and scheduled to start on January 5, 2025, have been released. In addition to the protagonist Tsutaya Juzaburo played by Yokohama, the stills also show the "legendary prostitute" Hananoi (Segawa V) played by Fuka Koshiba, Ken Watanabe Tanuma Okitsugu by Watanabe Ken, and Tanuma Okitomo played by Hio Miyazawa.

"Berabou" is the 64th taiga drama and depicts the life of Tsutaya Juzaburo who is said to have built the foundations of Japan's media industry and pop culture. The production team bills him as "a brilliant young man who was born with nothing - no parents, no money, no artistic talent - but became the darling of his time as the 'media king of Edo.'"

Filming for the drama began on May 27th, with lead actor Yokohama starting filming in Kyoto on June 15th. Filming in Kyoto will take place until the end of June in locations including Higashi Honganji Temple and Shochiku Studios in Kyoto and Nagaokakyo.
