Kaiju No. 8: Newly drawn visuals from the first exhibition released Powerful Kaiju No. 8 and the Japan Defense Forces

The key visual for the first exhibition of Naoya Matsumoto's popular work "Kaiju No. 8" has been released. The visual, drawn by Matsumoto, depicts the powerful figure of Kaiju No. 8 and the Japan Defense Force.

Part of the exhibit contents have also been revealed, including the "Monster Disaster Area" where visitors can experience the "monster disaster superpower Japan" from the work. The exhibition will display about 120 illustrations of famous scenes, "Monster 100 Views," which depicts everyday scenes where monsters exist, as well as life-size equipment and weapons of the defense force members.

Original merchandise for the exhibition has also been released. The lineup includes the "Acrylic 'X' Figure Collection" featuring character designs (18 varieties, 935 yen each), eco bags (2,640 yen), pass cases featuring Soshiro Hoshina 's design (1,650 yen), Gen Narumi 's design pass cases (1,650 yen), and "Acrylic Art with Foil" of Kaiju No. 8 (5,500 yen).

The exhibition will be held at Tokyo Dome City Gallery AaMo (Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo) from September 13th to November 10th.

"Kaiju No. 8" is a battle manga that has been serialized in "Shonen Jump+" since July 2020. Set in Japan, a monster superpower where monsters mercilessly invade everyday life, the story follows the exploits of the protagonist, Kafka Hibino, whose body has been transformed into a monster by a mysterious creature. It has gained popularity, winning the grand prize in the web manga category of the "Next Manga Awards 2021" in 2021, as well as ranking 6th in the "Manga Awards 2021" and 2nd in the "5th Everyone's Choice TSUTAYA Comic Awards." The comic has sold over 14 million copies in total.

The TV anime series that began airing in April is also attracting attention. The anime is produced by Production IG, which has worked on the Ghost in the Shell series, and Studio Khara, which has worked on the Rebuild of Evangelion series, is in charge of monster design and works. It is currently airing on TV Tokyo and other networks every Saturday at 11pm.
