Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom: A huge hit with box office revenues exceeding 4.52 billion yen in 95 days since release and attracting 2.69 million viewers

It has been revealed that "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom", the completely new theatrical version of the popular anime "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED" series, has exceeded 4.52 billion yen in box office revenue in 95 days since its release on January 26th.  The movie has been a huge hit, attracting over 2.69 million viewers. It has also been talked about as breaking the all-time record for the highest box office revenue for a Gundam movie in 42 years, beating the 2.3 billion yen recorded by Mobile Suit Gundam III: Encounters in Space, released in 1982.

``Mobile Suit Gundam SEED'' was broadcast from October 2002 to September 2003, and the sequel ``Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY'' was broadcast from October 2004 to October 2005. `` Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom'' is the sequel to ``SEED DESTINY'', and the TV animation staff including director Mitsuo Fukuda reunited.

The movie was announced in 2006, but there was no news about it for a long time. It was finally released about 18 years after the announcement. In the three days since its release on January 26th, the box office revenue exceeded 1.06 billion yen, making it the best start for a Gundam movie.
