It has been revealed that the original theatrical version of the anime "Maboroshi" directed by Mari Okada, who is known for writing scripts such as "Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day" will be exclusively distributed on Netflix from January 15th.
"Maboroshi" is Okada's latest work and was produced by MAPPA, the studio behind "Jujutsu Kaisen" and "Chainsaw Man." It was released in September 2023.
Set in a town where time has stopped due to a sudden explosion at a steel mill, and all roads to the outside world have been blocked, a group of boys and girls struggle to head toward the future using their ``urge to love'' as a weapon. It also became a hot topic that singer-songwriter Miyuki Nakajima was in charge of the theme song "Shin-on."
