Rurouni Kenshin: New PV released for the second season "Kyoto Disturbance" of the new TV anime Kenshin confronts Shishio

A new PV for the second season of the new TV anime "Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story-Kyoto Disturbance", based on the popular manga "Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story" by Nobuhiro Watsuki, has been released on YouTube. In the second season, the setting moves from Tokyo to Kyoto, and Himura Kenshin walks the difficult path of confronting Shishio Makoto. In addition to Kenshin and Shishio, the new PV also features Sagara Sanosuke, Shinomori Aoshi, and Makimachi Misao.

A new visual of Makimachi Misao, the girl Kenshin meets on his way to Kyoto, has also been released, along with a comment from voice actress Aya Yamane, who plays Misao.

"Rurouni Kenshin" is a popular manga that was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) from 1994 to 1999. It depicts Himura Kenshin who was feared as the assassin Battousai during the late Edo period, as a wanderer who vowed not to kill after the Meiji Restoration, searching for a way to live in a new era. A new chapter, "Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story Hokkaido Arc", has been serialized in the monthly manga magazine "Jump SQ." (Shueisha) since 2017. It was first made into a TV anime in 1996, and a movie version was released in 1997. Since 1999, three OVAs have been produced. A live-action movie starring actor Takeru Satoh also attracted attention.

The new anime will be fully supervised by the original author, Watsuki, from character design to the scenario, and will reconstruct the original work from the first episode. The first season aired from July to December 2023.

The second season will be broadcast on Fuji TV's late-night anime slot "Noitamina" and other channels from October. It will be broadcast for two consecutive cours.
